We want to change this scenario
Our goal is to assist municipalities in implementing the New Sanitation Regulatory Framework and provide universal sanitation across the country. We seek to connect stakeholders with an interest in making sanitation the priority agenda for the next decade. For this, we are developing the Sanitation Platform that includes:

Features the main information about the New Sanitation Regulatory Framework that will provide knowledge and assist municipal public administrators in diagnosing and decision-making.

A sanitation monitoring tool for municipalities based on unified public data.
Generating impacts such as:

.
Access to information for implementing the Legal Framework;

.
Encourage management based on data and indicators;

.
Possibility of making a quantitative diagnosis;

.
Support implementation, and local monitoring;

.
Assist in universalizing basic sanitation;

.
Minimize political and regulatory risk;

.
Provide a healthy and attractive business environment for new investments;

.
Promote a good relationship between the public and private sectors.
About CLP
CLP is a non-profit, non-partisan organization focused on developing technical intelligence solutions including rankings, data expertise and public sector analysis. CLP Institute is our international arm focused on the environment agenda.
To measure Brazil’s challenges, 10 years ago, CLP created the Ranking of States, a pioneering survey for helping administrators and entrepreneurs to make better decisions and better understand the country and the state where they live.
In 2020, CLP took another step to help civil servants, civil society and investors to better understand Brazil with the Ranking of Municipalities. It lists 405 cities, all with populations of more than 80 thousand, with 55 measured indicators.
We are now including ESG indicators and data, and an analysis from the perspective of the 17 SDGs. An intelligence work covering 30 Brazilian public databases and their relationship with international criteria.
How we operate
CLP operates on three pillars. The Sanitation Platform is a tool with data originated from the Competitiveness Ranking of States. CLP will soon launch the world’s first subnational ESG Ranking.

ESG Ranking
The Competitiveness Ranking of States and the Competitiveness Ranking of Municipalities help public administrators and entrepreneurs to make decisions based on evidence, with sanitation coverage as one of the indicators available for analysis.
CLP is developing the world’s first subnational ESG Ranking, with data on socio-environmental criteria approved by the European Union in 2020, as well as a tool that uses the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals and 169 related targets for 2030 to diagnose Brazilian regions’ competitiveness, socio-environmental sustainability and governance.
